Position: Laboratory Supervisor

Location: Riyadh, KSA
Job Purpose
Manage all laboratory operations and collaborate with the Technical Manager to expand the scope of work based on market demands and client requirements. Ensure timely execution and scheduling of tasks for engineers and technicians to maintain customer satisfaction and meet departmental objectives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Industrial) with at least 4 years of experience, or
Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Industrial) with at least 8 years of experience.
Skills:
Knowledge of metrological technical standards (Electrical/Mechanical/Mass/Pressure).
Proficiency in resource scheduling and planning.
Working knowledge of LIMS and ERP systems.
Familiarity with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
Mathematics and statistical analysis proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and ensure the timely execution of all jobs, including preparation of reports and labels, as per schedule, ensuring even workload distribution among calibration engineers.
Identify, maintain, and monitor the calibration department work environment as per international standards.
Train calibration engineers and technicians for various calibration tasks.
Guide, lead, and supervise all calibration engineers/technicians and their operations.
Review issued certificates and labels and sign them as an authorized signatory.
Ensure all master equipment is calibrated by ISO 17025-accredited laboratories.
Propose monthly improvements or resource requirements to management.
Prepare and update equipment maintenance schedules.
Ensure environmental records are maintained by the laboratory.
Develop new procedures, observation sheets, and uncertainty sheets in collaboration with the Technical Manager, and maintain revision control.
Perform calibration tasks as required, both on-site and off-site.
Authorize calibration certificates and approve monthly overtime.
Undertake additional technical responsibilities as assigned by management.
Adapt to changes in job responsibilities as determined by the company.
Proven working experience with ILAC and associated accreditation bodies.
Technical Skills
Advanced Calibration Knowledge
Expertise in calibrating a wide range of instruments, including electrical, dimensional, pressure, temperature, and flow devices.
Proficiency in using calibration management systems and software.
Understanding of Standards and Compliance
In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant standards.
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and accreditation requirements.
Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Abilities
Ability to identify and resolve complex calibration issues.
Proficiency in root cause analysis for recurring calibration errors.
Metrology Proficiency
Strong understanding of measurement science, geometric dimensioning, tolerancing (GD&T), and uncertainty analysis.

Ability to manage, train, and mentor calibration technicians to ensure skill development and adherence to protocols.
