Lifting inspections are carried out to verify that the lifting equipment and accessories remain safe to use, and to find any defects or deterioration in good time, to avoid any accidents due to any possible failure of the equipment. These inspections are required to be carried out at specified intervals throughout the lifetime of any equipment by a competent person with the requisite practical and theoretical knowledge of the equipment being examined.
RICI’s scope of equipment inspections includes, but is not limited to, the following.
They should be able to spot any signs of weakness or damage that could be a potential hazard. This could be a member of your team with relevant knowledge or could be someone from another organization. The person who carries the lifting equipment inspection must then complete a written report.
This report should detail everything about the inspection, such as:
- When the inspection was carried out
- What date the next inspection should take place
- Any defect that were found which could become a danger in the future
If any defects or damage are found during the inspection, they should be reported immediately so the person in charge can get these sorted as soon as possible.
RICI Inspection services can help you out by:
- Maintain the capability of your critical equipment
- Meet the relevant regulatory requirements
- Ensure safety and proper working of all lifting equipment
